Ooops... its been awhile!!
Sorry its been so long since I last blogged... I some how thought I would have more time once Scott got home but its been just as busy. The boys stayed busy through Halloween then we left for Disney. We had a fabulous time there. We even found a few things Logan could ride on. Now that its the holidays we are spending time together and just enjoying having Scott home this year. As you probably already know we aren't going to make it home for Christmas, Its such a long trip. Logan does not ride well in the car... its 21 hour drive not including stops. We miss everyone terribly but its just not possible this year. Everyone will be in our thoughts and Christmas won't be the same. We are planning to make it home some time this summer... we'll keep you updated about that trip.

Busy, Busy, Busy
So we've been super busy lately... many of you have sent me emails and I haven't gotten back to you. So sorry about that. Between trying to finish our daily tasks, cub scouts, football, and school I'm not sure we've had time to breathe. To top it all off we've been fighting a virus in our house.Kaleb has had three football games so far and has really started to love the game. The last game he received the game ball for being the most improved player. I know I've been very impressed with his efforts. Conor got an all clear from the orthopedics on Wednesday only to be sent home early from school with a fever. Both of them have been participating in cub scouts and have had fun... I'm looking forward to Scott being here to take them. Cub scouts is not my cup of tea. Logan is growing just way too fast!! I want him to slow down because we are enjoying him so much. Now that he is sleeping in his crib instead of the bassinet he sleeps all night long. Around 9:00 he goes to bed and doesn't get up until around 8am. If he wakes in the middle of the night he usually will even put himself back to sleep. I guess he is making up for the first three months!! :D He is rolling over from his belly to his back now pretty regularly. When on his back he rolls over to his side... I'm sure it won't be long and he'll rolling both ways.Scott is due back very soon!!! It looks like he should be home in about 10-12 days. That of course is no guarantee. This is the army after all. Obviously we are very anxious to get him home. Once he gets home I will post pictures of his welcome home ceremony!

Wow... so it's been awhile since I last posted a blog. I guess I've been busier than I thought. Kaleb and Conor are heading into their third week of school this week. So far so good... they both like their teachers and seem to enjoy their classes. Kaleb has been working hard at football. His first game was this past Saturday. His team won 20-0!! He was very excited about that. When he started the game he was quite nervous and forgot some of his plays. By the end of the game he had it down and did a very good job. Conor got his casts off a little more than a week ago. His arms aren't completely healed but the doctor felt they were healing well enough to go without the casts. He still cannot particpate in PE or anything else for that matter. We have been spending most Sundays at the pool because it something he can do without risk of hurting his arms. Logan enjoys the pool too. Today he fell asleep while we were in the pool. It's hard to believe he is going to be three months old this week! He won't be considered a newborn anymore! We are looking forward to Scott coming home. He should be home in about a month. They have moved him back to Camp Liberty to begin preparations to head home! Well... other than stay busy with the day to day activities there isn't much more to share. I just wanted to post some more pictures...

August 11th
Well... the boys summer is coming to a screeching halt very quickly. Kaleb will be starting 5th grade and Conor 2nd grade on Monday. How they EVER got to this point I'm not sure. It seems like I closed my eyes and they became kids and not babies.
Overall, we are all doing pretty well. Conor has learned to manipulate things with his fingers and really doesn't need much help doing things anymore. You wouldn't even know he has two broken arms. Unfortunately, if I am not watching closely he is doing things he shouldn't be. Its very hard for an active 7 year old to 'take it easy'. In a little more than a week we are going back to the orthopedic. They will take off his casts (thank goodness because they stink something awful!) and x-ray his arms again. I'm keeping my fingers crossed they have healed enough for him to leave the casts off. Kaleb is doing well too... he is anxious to start school. It's a pretty emotional year (for Mom anyway) since this will be his last year of elementary school. He has become such an excellent young man. He has been such a super help to me when I needed it. Sometimes even when I didn't need it :D Logan just adores him... too bad for me he spoils his baby brother terribly. If Logan makes just a little squeak Kaleb is there to pick him up. I've tried to explain we don't need to pick him up for any little noise but he seems to enjoy it. Kaleb also started football a few weeks ago. He has some good days and bad days with it. I think he's starting to understand that is going to happen. It's hard work... I don't think he realized how hard it really was. Kaleb takes time to warm up to new things so I guess we'll see how he's doing in a few weeks. Logan is getting big. He definitely knows what he wants when he wants it and isn't afraid to let me know. As you can probably see from the pictures he's got quite a sweet smile. We think he has even started to laugh a bit. He still absolutely HATES riding in the car. I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Unfortunate for him, many times there isn't an option. Scott should be home in about a month and a half. We don't have an exact date yet. He's doing pretty well but the last few months of deployment drag terrible. He certainly has a lot to come home to. After a few months of the chaos that occurs in this house he may ask to be sent back... just kidding. :D

1 little boy + 1 trampoline = 2 broken arms
So the story goes like this...
Against my "Mommy instincts" I allowed the boys to play on a neighbors trampoline even though it didn't have a safety net. On Tuesday, Conor was playing with some neighborhood kids on the trampoline and while jumping flew off the side. He landed first with his hands then on his face... when he tried to wipe the grass from his face and mouth he realized he couldn't. When I opened the door and saw how pale his face was I knew instantly there was a problem. His arms were limp and he said he thought they were broke... I had pretty much already figured that one out. We were at the hospital and checked in within the half hour. The staff at the hospital was fantastic and took him in very quickly even though there was a full waiting room. Within 3 hours we were back home with two soft casts and some good pain meds. The meds worked well because as we were leaving the hospital he begged me to take him to his baseball bbq because he wanted his trophy!! :) Unfortunately, the bbq was over at that point so I bought him out with pizza.
Today, he went to the orthopedics. The doctor said he had to compression fractures in the radius. Conor has been casted on both arms and will stay in the cast for 4 weeks. In four weeks they will remove the casts, take more x-rays and decide if he is okay to leave the casts off. Hopefully, he can learn to do more with his casts on... only time will tell!!

Growing and changing
We have made it past the one month mark. How easily we forget the challenges of having a newborn. I guess if we didn't forget no one would ever have another. All in all we are doing quite well. There are days I feel like I could lose my mind and days I can't understand what all the fuss is about. Logan is growing faster than we can keep up. On June 29th he weighed 10lbs 6oz, he gained 3lbs in 3 weeks. Pretty impressive if you ask me. He is still packing it on... just like both his brothers did. I've noticed he has started to develop those wonderful arm rolls and he has also obtained a second chin!! He has started to coo and makes little noises which is so adorable... Kaleb and Conor find it quite funny. We have gotten little smiles out of him here and there and are working on getting more. I think his big brothers are looking forward to when he's a little bigger and more interesting. Both Kaleb and Conor are super big brothers and they love to lay on the bed and watch TV with him. (Until he spits up of course... then they are yelling for me!) I love to watch them when they are interacting with him... it just may be the best part. Conor is now finished with baseball and Kaleb has two more games. It's definitely been a "Bad News Bears" type of season! School starts in about a month and Kaleb will start football soon. He is very excited to be playing tackle football this year... as for me not so much!!!

Our happenings
Well... we are trying to settle in. Logan is now 3 weeks old and we are all trying to figure out a schedule. Since Kaleb and Conor are on summer break it makes it kind of hard to set a schedule. I guess that is the point of summer vacation huh. Logan has different moods depending on the days. Today he has slept the majority of the day... heck I even got a short nap in with him!!! (Miracles do happen!) Although last night he screamed for 4 hours straight falling asleep here and there to tease me just a bit. I'm not sure if it's colic or he's just spoiled... we'll have to see.
Kaleb and Conor have been very busy with baseball. Even though I enjoy watching them play it has been a little unbearable with the heat. Temperatures have been hovering around 100 degrees for about a week and with humidity it feels like 110 outside! So much for Scott trying to convince me it would be drier here than in Virginia!!! Logan and I have been trying to see as much of their games from the car were the a/c is. I'm really not a wimp I just can see having Logan out in this weather for sometimes 3.5 - 4 hours. Besides... 4 innings of 7 and 9 year old baseball is quite slow... I'll never complain a MLB game is slow again!!!
